Can you tell us a little about yourself and your background?

My name is Sachin, and I was born and brought up in a small town named Punalur in Kerala which is one of the Southernmost states in India. Right from my childhood I loved to watch a lot of movies. Stories and history always fascinated me, and binge-watching and listening to stories are a few of my expertise :D

I studied all throughout at the same school and started to develop a comfort zone in my town, but my life started to change a lot after I moved to another city for work when I was 21. The people I met there and the friends I have made helped me a lot in making many good career decisions, and that lead to 7 years of my DevOps life.

What inspired you to pursue a career in your field?

Being a fan of Sci-fi movies from childhood,  I still remember the Flying DeLorean that runs on a flux capacitor from the movie Back to the Future!

But not being able to afford a computer pushed me away from having any computer skills but my desire towards learning about them began to grow day by day, and that fuel still runs inside me.

Can you share a proud moment or accomplishment in Spider AF so far?

‍Each day brings in new challenges and solving those makes me proud. I might need a bigger list haha. But it must be the same for everyone at Spider AF.

What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?

‍I used to do break dance when I was in school, which might be surprising for my colleagues at Spider AF.

How do you like to spend your weekends or time off?

‍I go for South Indian Martial arts (Kalari) training every weekend and spend the rest of the day at a Kerala restaurant here in Tokyo run by people from my hometown.

I also love photography, so sometimes I would go to some places nearby to take pictures.

How would you describe the culture at Spider AF?

‍Everyone here is really supportive and motivating. Spider AF doesn't simply focus on company growth alone, but values individual contributions and nurtures your personal growth as well.

Where is the best place you have visited?

I went to a heritage site called Ōuchi-juku village here in Japan. It’s so far one of the most amazing places I have visited.

What is the best career lesson you have learned so far?

Understand and focus on your goal. Always try to find something that keeps you motivated.
